A van or a cafe? it’s actually both – but in a shop located in Malaysia. I thought I would share this with everyone because the happy couple who owns and runs this cafe are pretty young. But the concept is really unique – and hip. I think locals should give the cafe and its owner a chance because they do try really hard as I can see when we visited. I didn’t go with the spouse but with my children and they loved the lattes and the ice caps that they ordered.
One of the things I have to do when I am traveling with the spouse when he is on the job for trade shows around the world, is to be the dutiful wife and attend the trade shows. Sometimes, I get to help out and other times I just learn about the new products available during the trade shows. It can be quite interesting and I get to meet people from around the world. I’m pretty helpful when it comes to finding wholesale trade printing for these trade shows for the spouse in case he needed extra brochures or things like banners or signage. Yes, I do get to become girl friday and I don’t really mind because I get to hang out with very intelligent people at the Trade shows on top of getting free accommodation and taking in sights and experiencing a new country or city.
Fell in love with a painting by a local artist – so I bid for it in an auction. Hopefully, I get it below the original price it had asked for – but it’s for charity, so even if it is a little more I won’t mind paying for it.
But have you wanted something so bad in an auction that you paid too much for the item and then you regret it? I have – so I’m trying not to go crazy over this painting – so help me God!
My kids take several music lessons throughout the week and they cannot do without their road runner case , in fact, all of them has one of them to carry their instruments from home to school and then from school to their music teacher’s home. Some might thing that these cases are way too heavy for a child to lug a long everyday but it’s one of the best cases to protect your musical instruments. The weather was so nice today – the spouse and I went for breakfast at the Harbor, I cannot think of a better place to be in at this point of my life. If I had chosen another partner many years ago, I bet I wouldn’t be enjoying the many places I’ve traveled, so when an old boyfriend wrote to me on Facebook, I didn’t reply nor regretted dumping him.
Last month, the spouse and I took a road trip to New York and since we had our children with us, we had to make sure that we had a spare tire too for the trip. So we got some pull action clamps to hold the spare tire to the back of our SUV and even though, the children were skeptical about the clamps, it held on good to the spare tires. Of course, now that we had the spare tire, we didn’t have to use it at all.
Anyhow, our road trip to New York was to visit a long time friend who is having her first baby and I wanted to be there to support her and also because we wanted to catch a few musicals while we were there. The weather was a lot warmer in New York than in Canada and we had a blast. The hotels that we stayed in were amazing and the kids even though bored with the ride there and back, they did not argue too much during the trip. It was a successful trip overall, I got to eat a lot of sushi and sashimi and had dim sum one weekend before we headed home.
A short trip to Chinatown always makes me happy because I don’t miss home so much after eating some fresh from the oven baked goods you can only get from home. This was my mom’s favorite too and back home, you only get to eat this when you are having a wedding or someone is having a wedding. But these days, you can find it everywhere in Asia and people don’t eat it only because of weddings. It’s a sweet cookie with sweet paste in them – I don’t eat a lot of them but I do have cravings, thank God for a very supportive spouse, who drove hours to get me some.
Young Entrepreneurs seems to be everywhere these day in this town, I see a shop opened recently across the street from a friend’s store and was quite impressed with what they did with the store front and the inventory they had. Traveling with the spouse when he is on business can be real fun especially if you have lots of free time to look for houses for investment or even a commercial building for investment. It would be fun to move closer to my friends who are all in North Carolina as there are lots of opportunities there. The kids will be in better schools and they will have better jobs too. I’m tempted because the spouse travels a lot to the United States for work and it would make more sense to move and be in USA. Property prices are comparable to those in this small town but they do have a lot more to offer. But it will be a big move but for the work that both of us are doing, I’m sure we will do well in NC.
One huge reason for the love of traveling is being able to eat and drink all kinds of different food and drinks but of course, learning the different culture is just as enjoyable too. I want my kids to travel the world before they get marry and have kids of their own. One can never learn that much without traveling and seeing for yourself first hand what is going on outside your comfort zone. Traveling allows me to appreciate what I have and to become humble and learn humility. This is just a bloody Mary but look at how different the presentation it has in the East. While the West couldn’t be right bothered about enticing their customers, in the East – it’s all about pleasing the palate and the eyes as well. Therefore, can you blame the ASians for having a lot more money than the ordinary West?
