I love airports – in fact I always make it a point to arrive earlier – so that I can check out the airports in the different places that I’ve been to. While some airports can be quite plain – others is a city in itself – like the Changi International Airport – it never fail to impress me – everytime I am there. And each year it seems like the Changi Airport is more beautiful than last. Did I also tell you that I love the Singapore Airlines – while most of its planes are huge and safer than the rest of the airline – Singapore Airlines is by far the safest and the most reliable. There is the Terminal 1, 2 & 3 at the Changi Airport and several storey high as well. There are restaurants and food court, shopping center in the airport here and many fast food restaurant. Free Wi fi and so many more - I cannot begin to tell you. If you love airports like I do – I believe that Changi Airport and the one in Hong Kong is currently my favorite.

What I wouldn’t give to have a bowl of noodles from home and in a hawker center. Seriously, if you had asked me 25 years ago – I would tell you I won’t miss a bowl of hawker center noodles from Tsim Sha Tsui but today in this cold winter morning – I could use some of this for breakfast. Noodles are the staple food for us Asian – my kids eat lots of it – even more than rice. But a bowl of Chinese noodles like this one – is the ultimate taste of Chinese cooking and even though my mom used to say not to drink the soup because they are full of MSG – I wouldn’t mind drinking them now.

I had an earlier Valentine celebration because the spouse was heading to California tomorrow for work – so he won’t be around during Valentine’s day. We brought our kids with us for the celebration of course and this was what the kids gave us for Valentine’s day. So cute!

We had dry-aged grass-fed ribeye from Whole Foods, with a big red from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Then imagine a background music of Sumi Jo singing Ave Maria from Giulio Caccini.

This is the new plane flying from Yarmouth to Boston – for those who are not aware of this – we lost our airline service for a few months – because of mismanagement by the town. They brought in another airline – and hopefully this one will stay – because the spouse had to drive to Halifax to get a flight out when he was on business trip. This dingy plane surprising was that bad – but don’t expect any frills and only one attendant – who can’t really be bothered very much after she served us our drinks. Luckily, our flight wasn’t that long – I was famished by the time we landed in Boston.

Flying Business Class has its perks, we all know that by now and if you don’t well, you probably haven’t been flying a lot. Had a choice of bento or steak and i chose the steak since I will be eating a lot of Japanese, that was my reasoning. The beef was from New Zealand although I would have preferred Kobe beef but that’s alright. Can’t complain when you are so high up in the air, not the freshest is what you kind of expect. But overall, it was a pretty good meal.

Cheese on JAL business class but not really the kind of cheese I liked, they said these were the international cheese selection. I asked if they served cheese whiz and the flight attendant thought I was crazy. The next time, I should remember to bring my own.
