While the spouse loved his high tech hotels, I on the other hand loved the historical inns – I find them fascinating and magical. I loved historical inns because of their magnificient beds for they make us feel like princesses. The king or queen size four poster beds are the ones I loved most with memory foam mattress and each time we go on a vacation, I asked the spouse to try and book a historical inn. I’ve always wanted to stay at the Waverly Inn in Halifax because I’ve heard about their European styled decorated rooms with canopy beds plus I’m pretty fascinated that this building is from the 1800s. The spouse suggested that it was the canopy beds that I was interested in and instead of staying in historical inns – why not invest in one – which seems to be another good idea – but I still want to stay in as many historical inns as possible because I just loved hearing the stories behind them and look at pictures of all the famous people who might have lived in the same room as I.

Well, sometimes! because online friends can turn scary on you. Can you have real friendship with your online friends? I truly don’t think so – I think online friendships are pretty platonic as far as I am concern. I had this online friend who would complain about just anyone who was doing better than she was and would try to sabotage them. At first I trusted her opinion and even followed her blindly and dislike the people she dislike. Little did I know that the online friend had a secret agenda. And of course, I had another online friend who seems quite an honest person but I was wrong, she kept writing to me asking me to loan her money. Not that I don’t have any money to loan her and not that I cannot afford to lose the money but boy! the hounding for money every couple of weeks for a year can get quite scary. So for those who have online friends, I strongly suggest you stay platonic as long as you can – you never know what the other person is thinking on the other end of the computer – for all you know that person may have horns and you can’t see it coz’ you are just online friends.

We went to a fashion show last week – and I cannot get over this blue handbag and I want this bag ! A check with everyone who went to the fashion show – they don’t even know if it belongs to the model herself or was it an FK’s. So I’m on the hunt for this bag – and if anyone know what brand it is – let me know and no this is not a Hermes – I would know because I have one too but it’s not. I just hope this bag isn’t too expensive because it will be the Christmas present I want from the spouse. No diamond rings for me this holiday – i just want another bag – this blue one in particular.

Why not? I deserved it and I’m going to be happy always – for what stays with you forever but your jewelries – haha! and I like buying something I like to reward myself – don’t you? Indulgence that is what my mother would say – and so it is - and I loved to upset my mom once in a while and show her how well I’m doing – especially that jealous sister of mine.

The spouse don’t think that one needs to bother to go to a hairstylist to get a haircut – he goes to the one – the cuts hair – it doesn’t matter where. Unlike what I think, I prefer to go to someone who takes their time to help me look good – and I strongly believe that you get what you pay for. You pay peanuts – you get a peanut looking hairstyle – even if it was a trim. I love my Native Sunglasses and even though it was a bit more than my normal sunglasses – I feel it was worth every penny – look how good I looked.
Waxing my eyebrows and upper lips is a must occasionally or when I feel a need to look presentable which is pretty often and I love doing it because it makes me feel good about myself. There are some people here who wears their PJs to the grocery store *slap forehead* and I seriously wonder why the hell are they thinking of? do these women have no sense of pride for themselves? I can’t do that – my grandmother would wake up from her grave and beat me up if I did that.
But of course, being fairly fashionable takes time and money and I totally agree with you, some woman debate if she should wash another batch of laundry or go have their white hair colored and camouflage them ? I say – get your hair done – because after you get your hair done, facial done and a pedicure – you would be full of energy to tackle the rest of the housework. Housework and cooking are never ending tasks in a woman’s life – but being a fairly fashionable woman doing housework and cooking – is a lot more cooler – when the spouse comes home. I doubt any man wants to come home to the wife with her PJs on from last night. So ladies, you can be fairly fashionable without spending too much time and money – all you need to do is give yourself a break – take some time for yourself – you deserve it and so does the spouse.

I do not like wearing black in the winter – because it’s already such a gloomy season. I strongly believed that Christmas lights are being put up to deceive us – to make us think that this is a season to have fun – that the cold is alright. But it’s not alright – and I suspect that many wear dark colors because they can’t get enough warm – and really don’t care whatever color the clothing are – they just want to be really warm in the cold winter weather. But winter need not be about frumpy dressing – but it also means that you need to pay for color and a good kind of material of the clothing you buy. I buy the insulated T-Max brand of winter clothing – not only because they are thin – but they can really keep one warm.

I have to chuckle when my friends who are coming to see the snow think that what they got for keeping warm when they are in Canada is good enough. Let me share a secret with you – if you really want to get good winter clothing to keep you warm – make sure you buy them in Canada or in United States where it is really cold – else you can never get the right thing anywhere else. Every Winter I try to put in more color into my wardrobe and this year I’m dressing up my wardrobe again with a different color. Red perhaps this year?

I never had dry skin till I migrated to Canada and since living here, once the weather turns cold, my skin suffers big time. It gets really dry and sometimes it cracks, you should see my spouse’s hand they are worst than mine – he could literally give you a scrub with his hands. I’ve used several types of skin care products to combat my dry skin and they do help but not too much till I found that shea butter works like a charm on my skin. Not only do they work, they smell awesome and it makes my skin feels like I just bathed in something creamy and rich. I also loved that I don’t have to wear a perfume after using shea butter body cream because they worked as a perfume scent on me. But men can use shea butter too – because it smells like a nutty kinda smell – so don’t worry about recommending it to your spouses or your boyfriends. Now I can look forward to winter without worry about cracked skin or ugly looking ones.

I love handmade stuff – and this shoe is one of them – made of leather and fit to the tee. Simple, pretty and made of leather – I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. A wee bit expensive – over $200 – from Etsy – but when you walk as much as I do for shopping – this has got to be the shoe for shopaholic like myself.

The best gift anyone can give me right now – is a sturdy umbrella! it had been raining cats and dogs in Toronto for a few days now – and I just dislike having to coupe up in the hotel and can’t go out and shop or eat and enjoy Toronto. The concierge loaned me an umbrella – but I didn’t even get to the street – when the umbrella went inside out! darn! So as soon as the rain lighten up – I’m going out to get myself a sturdy umbrella – I don’t care how it looks – I just want one – that I can use to keep myself somewhat dry – and not leave me in an embarrassed state.

We were in New York city a fortnight ago – when the spouse had a meeting with a client there – I tagged along of course and saw someone shooting this gal on the street. I don’t know if she was a model or not – but there was no crew there – so out of curiosity I took a picture of her too. I admired her casualness – her proper dressing – because the town i lived in – you will never see gals with this kind of fashion sense – and those that has got some fashion sense – will not be hanging around town.
While I pride myself – for dressing up the minute I get up – I am very disappointed to see girls of all ages in this town – wearing PJs to the shopping mall. Sometimes, I want to go up and ask them – if they don’t pride themselves at all? or they just feel that they look that gorgeous even in a PJ in a mall. I hope my kids will never behave this wear – for dressing up – is not only essential – its a form of respecting yourself.
