Quaint Lil’ Cafe

0

cafe

It is my dream – to own a quaint lil’ cafe – not to make money – but to have something to do when we retire.  This cafe is not going to have extraordinary food but definitely a good cup of expresso and desserts.  This cafe will also have internet access free to all our customers.   This cafe will serve good but cheap coffee, cakes, desserts and snack food.  This cafe will be opened for long hours and will welcome anyone that dresses decently. My dream, my hope and my plan for friendship.

Yam Rice

Yam rice has always been my favorite – what about you?   But it can be hard on the stomach – and get give you indigestion.  Sometimes, I would make some home made yam rice for the family – unfortunately, they are not fond of it – so I end up eating most of it myself.  Darn!

Pot Washing

The wife and I came home the other night and while putting away the dishes, so that she can wash another batch found this in our dish rack.  Obviously, this isn’t one of our work but of the babysitter.   I asked the wife, if the sitter even washed the pot, in which the wife was being nice and said, she was probably distracted from looking after our monster brat.

The sitter will be going away to college this fall and will be staying in her own apartment, if I were her parents, I would be real worried for her.

The Anything Goes Omelet

We used to travel a lot for work and the wife misses her hotel breakfast, so once in a while, I’ll make this anything goes omelet for her.  Just a change of taste and different food for her and soemtimes, we have this for a late nite supper.  Unlike what she was used to in Asia, she can get food in the middle of the night from the hawker center just a few minutes walk away.  If given a choice, I think she would have prefer to have dim sum instead or some chilli crab.

Omelets are easy to make and you can put anything you like into it and flip it after it is cooked and you are all done.  We used a good wok, so no oil is need and it doesn’t stick onto the wok too.  I recommend Tfal because Meyers doesn’t seems to last too long.  Our investment in a good Tfal was the best decision we made getting a wok.
