I asked myself constantly why should I get so upset when a friend’s husband is cheating on her and they are in the midst of a divorce. Many a times I feel like going online and screaming at the woman and the cheating husband because my friend is so timid and the cheating husband is telling everyone that she is at fault because she wanted a kid. Yes, very selfish, uncalled for and truly an asshole but what has all these gotta do with me right? why should I get so upset and in fury about it. Am I too involved, too emotional – or have too much time on hand (definitely not) so what is this have to get involved and meddle with other people’s business? I really have to learn to mind my own business and be a good friend and just listen to what my poor friend wants to do instead of giving suggestions and fueling the fire and thus hurting her and on the other hand – I definitely need to lay off on doing good for people – and instead concentrate on my own family and myself. Haven’t I learned my lesson many a times by now – the spouse asked me the other day.

So we gotten ourselves free day pass to a local gym for a month – promotional event for the local gym trying to get the folks staying nearby to join the gym I’m guessing. So a few of my friends and I decided to check it out afterall, we had passed by the gym every morning when we had gone to get our coffee and some of the people exercising sure looks good enough to bite! haha! Yes, the men there sure have some toned bodies and muscles – we figured that some must be using testosterone supplement , else no ordinary people would have muscles like them.
The free day pass to the gym of course was a chance for the sales people to try and meet new people and to get us to join the club for a year or maybe 2. I do like their programs offered and I especially liked that one can hire a personal trainer to work with you at a time convenient to you but the sales people should really loosen up and not be so aggressive on the first day when we visited. Some of my girlfriends were quite shocked at how these sales folks hover over us the entire hour we were there. We didn’t end up signing up as members but that doesn’t mean that we cannot go back and see those eye candies for the rest of the month.

We had wanted to go to the Teahouse in Stanley Park but ended up in a pre-opening of a club in downtown Vancouver because the girlfriend’s PR company was involved in the pre-opening launch. Not a drinker but have you seen such big bottle of alcohol anywhere except for pre-openings and launching of a club and a pretty famous one I heard.
Since we are old farts and wasn’t going to stay out for too late – and the pre-launched only started at 10pm – you can imagine how tired I was by the time we got back to the hotel. Those days where we stayed up late till the morning and then eat breakfast and go home and shower and back to work is definitely over. Can’t say we are not getting on with age now – can we? We had a great time though, catching up and seeing models and eye candies everywhere, too bad the husbands didn’t come – but 10 – 12 over the hill women together can get quite noisy and crazy.

It had been so long since we owned a summer cottage by the sea and the market seems to be right for buying one, so here we go again – the spouse said – as we went from one to another looking for the right one with the right price to invest in. I loved the look of this one – the furniture looked amazing and we can add a few more rustic dining tables that would make a perfect cottage for us in the summer. Currently they are using some glass dining tables but it really has potential even though they don’t have as much room as we would like. But I do love the wood they have around the cottage making it look so warm and cozy, so just a few more rustic furniture and we are all ready to move in if the spouse agrees to buy it. The children loved that the beach is but 5 mins away and I do like that it is away from town but not too far.

What can I say ? I’m lazy and I don’t deny it and since I want to join the kids riding their bikes – I bought a gas powered bike a few years ago – smart right? Loved the bike and had many good times on it but it’s time to upgrade and get another better one. Hopefully one that runs more than just 80cc. Looking at the weather this year, it looks like it’s going to be a great year to explore the county a little bit more. Lunenburg seems to be the destination to be this year, maybe the spouse will be adventurous enough, I know the kids are, they cannot get enough of the sun and the sea.

How did your Easter Sunday go? we ended up in Dawson and listened to Jazz music before heading home. It was an awesome day spent with friends and family – nothing can beat that especially when you have generous friends who has connections and can get you the best seat in a Jazz party.

Everyone loves a good gossip – not just the woman folks – even the men loves the good and juicy gossip but I’ll have to admit not as much as us ladies. Once a week, friends and I gather together in this wonderful bistro in town and gossip, yes, just plain gossiping about friends, husbands, children, neighbors, the in-laws and of course the girl next door who can’t seems to find the right boyfriend or husband.
Some say it’s terrible that we are gossiping about everyone and anyone and even business and a local business commented in her facebook that some people had spread rumors that she has closed down in December last year thus leading the “real” closure of her business. Now that of course, we all know it’s plain bull ! the reason why she closed down was because she had no good business sense and didn’t know how to utilize her money properly.
Our gossips are never meant to be malicious nor to put salt in anyone’s wound, it’s just our girls time and we just talk about anything and everything, but of course, some people would like to call it gossip so we indulge them. Freedom of speech is what we believed in and if you were just gossiping nothing should affect you, your business and relationships.
The youngest is attending a birthday party of a school friend this weekend – and out of courtesy, I had called her parents to ask what she was into these days. And guess what her mother said – xbox games or the DS 3D games. Wow! these days kids are very expensive! when we were young – our parents would ask for books or something simple – but I’m guessing in the West – they just ask for whatever the kid is playing even though they are expensive gifts, the parents don’t have trouble asking for it during the kid’s birthday.
There is probably going to be pizza only at the party – and my kid don’t even eat pizza – so she would only have a piece of small cake – and that piece of cake is going to cost us closed to $35 for a birthday present – darn! We can’t let her attend many birthday parties no more if every kid wanted a xbox game or a DS 3D game. Would you ask for such an expensive present for your kid’s birthday? I don’t know what to think – since the kids are only 6 years old – what will they ask for when they turn 16? I think we are good with our kid’s gifts – we never let them have expensive toys or gifts.

It’s understandable why many friends from Philippines, China and Thailand wants to leave their country and marry someone here – it’s a fake illusion that the West or the men in the West are rich I think. Some girls from home might think it’s marry up – when it comes to marry to people from USA – and Canada or just about anywhere out of their country but when I see these beautiful ladies marrying someone so old – my heart goes out to them.
Of course, my friends claimed that it is for love but really? anyhow, recently I met a young Filipino who married a older gentleman in town and at first, everyone in town had mistaken that the young girl was a friend of his son – she looked like she was 13 or 14 yrs old – I kid you not. But we come to learn that she was the new wife – WOW! the young girl was nice but after talking with her a few times, I met her once at the local cafe – and she was busy sky-ping with family or friends back home. She sounded frustrated and I really didn’t want to be a busy body – but she started tearing and I went over to ask her if she was alright.
Long story short – she thought that when she married this older man in town – she was marrying someone well to do – she had promised her family to send home money as soon as she arrived but the new husband didn’t have any to give her to send home – so they are currently sleeping in separate rooms because she is mad with him. The new husband is currently on unemployment and has a teenage son who is just about ready to start college next year – so money is tight.
Yes, everyone hope for a better life – the grass is always greener on the other side – and everyone wants to reach for the stars – but be careful ladies. Be careful.

A week ago, I read how some who were with Google adsense got banned for no reasons at all at John Chow’s and this blogger had been with Adsense for a long time. Adsense is one of the more popular affiliate programs that helped bloggers make money online and truth be told – I hear a lot of bloggers just get banned for no reason whatsoever that they can think of. But like the author on John Chow said – don’t put all your eggs in one basket – and I hope you didn’t either – because there are other affiliate programs that do pay pretty well and you can work well with them without fearing that all your hard work to increase your traffic would have gone to waste – because Google deems it as some potential fake click or at risk. So yes, there are other ways to make money online – and a good affiliate program is everywhere – you just have to look for it and work with them. I’ve had great success with some – but not with Adsense – I don’t regret not having adsense – or making the big bucks with them – because there are other companies that are reasonable and don’t just ban you for nothing. And yes, Zac Johnson is the one that got banned about a week ago.
