We were in the city for some work the next day, so today being April Fool’s Day and also Easter Monday, we decided to have a good chinese meal at an authentic chinese restaurant that serves Sze Chuan food. Too many, this must be a very ugly fish, where else, I loved this kinda fish because it reminds me of my childhood where I had to eat the eyeballs because my mom told me that it was the best part of a fish. They delight in seeing me devour the eyes and spitting out the eyeballs after eating up all the jello stuff around the eyes.
The friends looked at me in disgust – hahahaha!
I was invited by some friends to a belly dancing evening in April and I have to say I loved belly dancing and indian food – what a great combination right? Dancing with music and tambourine player I heard to accompany the belly dancer – what more can a woman ask ? My friends and I always think of something interesting to do around town, and if there is nothing to do, we head up to the city and paint the town red. And I anticipated an evening of good fun as the hostess and host are both very charming. I look forward to a full belly and some belly dancing moments.
Met up with one of my girlfriend who recently was separated from her husband. Well, I shouldn’t really say recently for it had been about 1.5 yrs now and as much as I would love to continue supporting her, it’s now getting a little tiring for me. Because I think I’ve overextended myself in the attempt to make her feel less lonely on her own – so that she wouldn’t make the wrong decision to go back to her ex.
I have included her in everything I do from work to leisure and I think it’s time to let go now – and let her soar on her own. I haven’t been spending too much time with my own kids and spouse because of her – not her fault but I think I was overly helpful and although the spouse hasn’t said anything yet, I think I should now let go a little and let her be her own person.
So we sat down for a cup of coffee and carrot cake and talked for a bit and I told her a little white lie that I am going to be quite busy in the following weeks. So hopefully, she will find things to do on her own and learn to be stronger without me. I will always be there for her but it’s time to let go a little.
We wanted to get something special for the new addition in our family – a lovely niece just arrived a few days ago. The spouse suggested a silver coin a tradition in the family but I wanted something different. A silver coin but more special – this Welcome Baby 1oz .999 Silver Medallion Enameled Pink – was not only sweet but not expensive and I know that the parents would loved it. These days, you can really get some really nice silver coins to collect instead of just the traditional kind. My kids asked me how come they didn’t get something so special in which I replied that when they were born, they didn’t have such. But i think I know what to get them for easter now.
So the spouse and I were recently eating in an outdoor cafe in Florida and there were ladies smoking not cigarettes – but cigars. I loved the smell of cigar more than cigarette, so I didn’t mind at all – afterall, you see J. Lo smoking a cigar every now and then too. But some people in my group were quite appalled to see the ladies smoking macanudo cigar – and I was quite surprised because in this time and age, you would think that people are a lot more open and acceptable to anything. And to me smoking a cigar was not really a huge deal – even if you are a woman. I didn’t join in the conversation of course because some people are just so into themselves – but I did say to these people that I didn’t mind the cigar smell at all – I hope they get my message. But truth be told I think ladies who smoke cigars are a lot more sexier and I truly admire them for daring to try other things and not care what others think of them.
Yes, the things we do for our kids just to keep them happy and motivated. The oldest kid will be back from college for March break next week and he had asked the spouse to look at some parker guitars at music123 . It was a huge hint that the spouse should buy him one since he did so well this term. I’m really not for it because it is way too expensive – and too valuable to bring it with him to college. But in hindsight, he is no longer a kid – he will be turning 19 soon and if we can trust him with a car, why can’t we trust him with a guitar the spouse argued. So in the end the spouse agreed to get him the guitar, while I only paid for the hard case – the things we do for our kids!
You are probably wondering – what the hell this is right? hahahah! i don’t blame you – coz’ I was wondering the same thing too when it was placed in front of me. You see when you sit at the sushi bar, you don’t get to choose what you want to eat, the sushi chef will bring out whatever he thinks is the best catch for the day or evening. Anyhow, no regrets for eating at the sushi bar – because it’s not everyday that you get to sit at one of the best sushi restaurant in New York. So what is this? this is Ark’s shell liver – it’s sorta like a clam – and clam’s liver ? first I’ve heard of but who am I to complain – because the ark’s shell liver was awesome!

The spouse and I are always invited for parties by friends and families and sometimes friends of friends – now the best ones are parties hosted by his company or those related to his company. Why? because they are so much more glamorous and I loved playing dress up and I loved those with live music and a dance floor. I collect dj business cards whenever I go to such parties in case I need their services in the future and it’s always good to have them when my friends are throwing a party – or need suggestions.
Thus far this year, we’ve attended a few parties and have thrown one ourselves during the spouse’s birthday – and we did have live music and dancing – so I’m glad I had hired the dj that we both liked at one of the parties we’ve attended. My friends who had attended our recent birthday party cannot stop raving about the dj we had – I was only too happy to pass along the contact.

The co-workers complained that I’m always in solemn colors – so today while attending a business dinner – I decided to put on some other color – and they were shocked – even the boss was very pleased with this color. I guess I really have to put in more color in my wardrobe from now on and start impressing people.
